Church Growth by Word and Sacrament
Greetings from Bucharest, Romania! As we continue the ministry in this part of the world, we praise the Lord for his continued grace towards us. Because of His grace, I am writing to share what the Lord has done in recent months.
In February, we rejoiced in welcoming a new family as part of our church plant in Bucharest. Since their children had not been previously baptized in any Christian church, we had the blessing to witness the sign and seal of the covenant of grace being applied to all the five children of this family.
Their baptism reminded us all of the faithfulness of our God who promised to be our God and the God of our children. This promise is a great encouragement especially for us who are in a church planting situation, as we are comforted to know that the word and sacrament ministry is being used by the Holy Spirit to establish and grow a holy and lasting nation which spreads across all nations and ages.
It is also encouraging to understand how the seeds we are sowing in the present, by the work of the Holy Spirit, will continue to bear fruit in the future in the lives of these children who will form the next generation of Reformed believers in Bucharest.
In March we also welcomed two young men who became members of the church. I was encouraged to see their desire to grow in knowledge and their interest for a reverent worship before God.
Thank you all for your prayers and support! As our mission work is growing, we ask for your continued prayers and support for our needs. Pray for me as I teach and meet new people. Pray for our local elder as he is helping me and shepherding the new people of the church plant. Pray for the strengthening of the new members in Bucharest and for the continued growth of the church plant.
Warmly in Christ,
Rev. Mihai Corcea
